Have you ever wondered why your jeans are loosing shape, how often you should washing them, or maybe the best way to store them? We have compiled a list of the 10 most important tips for caring for our favorite fashion staple!

Tip 1: You are probably washing your jeans to often. Washing them to much can cause them to loose their shape. Jeans form to your bodies natural curves so save those washes for when they are stained or starting to sag.

Tip 2: While most jeans these days are pre-washed for the worn in look, if you have a pair of raw denim don’t wash them for the first 6 months to break it in and get the denim to fit your body.

Tip 3: “Not wash my jeans? I wear them everyday they will smell!”- You say. Well don’t worry we got you covered, simply hang them in the bathroom while you take a hot shower, the steam will get the smell out.

Tip 4: Want to preserve the wash of your jeans? Wash them inside out. You can also add a 1/2 cup of distilled vinegar to the final rinse cycle of your dark denim to preserve it.

Tip 5: Avoid the dryer. Lay them flat or hang dry them whenever possible. Worst case turn the temperature down low and pull them out slightly damp allowing them to air dry the rest of the way.

Tip 6: Want to fold them like pro? Lay them flat, then fold leg over leg from left to right. Then in half so the hem lines up with the waistline.

Tip 7: Denim needs to breathe so don’t stack them to tight on a shelf, or hang denim tops to close together in a crowded closet.

Tip 8: Need to alter your jeans? Be sure to wash them at least twice first. Denim will shrink in length and you don’t want them to short.

Tip 9: Don’t have time to try them on? Use the neck test. Wrap the waistline around your neck and if the two sides meet comfortably they will fit (for most people).

Tip 10: Jeans a bit to tight? While the waistline is damp give it a good stretch. For extra stretching hit that damp waistline with a blow-dryer or steam-filled iron.
